Outdoor Stations of the Cross During Lent

Outdoor Stations of the Cross Devotion during Lent at OLC

We will be trying something new during this upcoming Lenten season. As you know, we have an outdoor prayer space at OLC which is “ringed” by the Stations of the Cross. Our Facilities Coordinator, Jean Michaud has refurbished the Stations from top to bottom over the last several weeks. To honor the Passion and Death of our Lord, as well as to recognize Jean’s hard work, we will pray the Stations every Friday during Lent at 12 Noon sharp, beginning Friday, February 12th. We will ascend the few short steps to “Calvary Hill” and pray the Stations of the Cross together. This is one of the most important and enduring traditions of our faith. After our devotion, we will process in silence from “Calvary Hill” into the Retreat Center for a simple soup lunch of clam chowder prepared by Chef Joseph. Please join us for this powerful Way of the Cross devotion to our Lord. This event is free to all. A free will offering for the simple soup lunch will be gladly appreciated. If the weather is not cooperative, we will pray the Stations inside in our St. Paul of the Cross Chapel. We would appreciate it if you would let us know if you plan to attend by email (olcretreat@sbcglobal.net) or by calling us at 860-677-8519 so we may plan accordingly for lunch. You should be comfortably on your way by 1:30pm.
