Creating Space for Grace: A Retreat for Busy Women

Creating Space for Grace: A Retreat for Busy Women

Come and see how you can create space for grace!

Today’s woman is pulled in a million different directions. Always on the go, we are doers and nurturers. This hectic pace can make it difficult to listen for the voice of God. Women need time. We need quiet. We need a safe, sacred space free from distraction. We need to stand still long enough to be found. God’s grace is our gift for the taking if we can only make room to receive it. You are invited to reflect on ways you can create space for grace and God to enter your life fully and completely.

This is an upstairs Blue Room program. Enrollment is limited.

Includes lunch.

Spirituality of Women for the Future of the Church

Join us for a reflection on Women and the Church sixty years on from Vatican II.

In an impromptu press conference on the return flight from the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Pope Francis said “… all we say is they can do this, they can do that, now they are altar servers, now they do the readings, ..but there is more! We need to develop a profound theology of the woman.”

Where is the Church in relation to women nearly sixty years after Vatican II?

Where are women in relation to the Church?

We will reflect on these questions based on church documents and present understanding and practice in light of the gifts of mind and heart that women can and do bring to Church ministry. Along with the presentation, you will be invited to some time for personal reflection and an opportunity to share your wisdom with one another.

This program includes lunch.

Sister Eileen Fucito, CP is an experienced retreat leader and spiritual director. She was a member of the retreat team at Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center. Sister Eileen founded and then directed Our Lady, Queen of Peace Retreat Center in Dancyville, Tennessee for over 20 years. Currently, she serves as Congregational Leader of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion and is a member of Our Lady of Calvary’s Retreat Team.

Women’s Retreat

The theme of our Women’s Retreat this year is “The World will be Saved by Beauty.”

Our spiritual path to God may begin with our attraction to beauty. The more we are aware of the beauty around and inside of us, the more beauty we project toward others. The beauty that flows from our hearts, reminds us of the source from which it comes: God.

Beauty has been described as the intersection where our physical bodies can hold both the desolation and despair and the joy of happiness of our lives – the place that gives our lives its deepest meaning

Come, spend time looking for what is beautiful. Intentionally take time to focus on those things that lift you up and help you to feel closer to your God, the One who sends beauty to refresh, nurture, and sustain you, the One who invites you into beauty’s Immortal Heart. You may rediscover beautiful things that perhaps you’ve taken for granted.
