Deacon Art Miller and Father Warren Savage are hosting a presentation on Black Catholic History at Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center in honor of Black History Month. The event will feature a prayer service or Mass, a presentation, and light refreshments.
Father Warren J. Savage is a well-known Mission, Retreat, and Revival Preacher. In addition, he preaches for the Mission Cooperatives on behalf of the Catholic missions in Haiti sponsored by Hands Together, Inc., Springfield, Massachusetts. A graduate of the Gregorian University in Rome, Italy, and Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, he is a Program Leader and Spiritual Director at Genesis Spiritual Life Center, Westfield, MA, an instructor for the Permanent Diaconate Formation Program, and a lecturer for the Religious Studies Department and Institute for Theology and Pastoral Studies (ITPS) at Elms College in Chicopee. He ministers in the Black Catholic Apostolate in the Diocese of Springfield and has completed a three-year Pastor-Theologian Program at the Center of Theological Inquiry, Princeton, NJ.
Deacon Art Miller is a revivalist, radio host, author, and retired businessman. He is a Vietnam-era Army veteran and the former director of the Office for Black Catholic Ministries for the Archdiocese of Hartford. He has traveled throughout the country preaching God’s Holy Scripture and raising the need for conversion to “Radical Love.” He has taught and preached Christ’s call to His life-changing “Radical Love” from New England to the Katrina-ravaged Gulf Coast of Mississippi, from the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico to the south side of Chicago. He is a nationally known preacher of God’s Holy Scripture.
