Celtic Spirituality and Nature
March 15, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm$40
In their understanding of God, Celtic Christians held two books to be sacred; The Holy Scriptures and the Book of Nature. Celtic Christianity developed in the 4th century in Ireland and areas of the British Isles not invaded by Roman armies. In this program, we will explore the basics of Celtic Spirituality and apply them with a nature-based prayer experience. We will also examine the prayers of the Carmina Gadelica, not as a way to revisit a vanished world but as a resource we can use to deepen our connection with nature and God in our daily lives.
This program includes a St. Patrick’s Day-themed lunch!
Presenter: Sister Mary Ann Strain, CP has been working in retreat ministry since 1986. She holds a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from Providence College.
