Curtain of Leaves Monoprints
September 27 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$25
Celebrate the trees at OLC by creating one-of-a-kind double sided monoprints.
Many artists have used the tree as inspiration for their artwork. Visual artists such as Gustav Kilmt (Tree of Life), Van Gogh (The Mulberry Tree), Georgia O’Keeffe (Lawrence Tree), and Piet Mondrian (Gray Tree) all chose the noble tree as subject matter.
We’ll use pressed leaves to make monoprints on translucent paper, and a simple printing block as a plate, capturing the many seasons of the leaf. After making a frame made of sticks, the prints will be hung chain-like from a branch. Both sides of the paper can be printed, resulting in a subtle layered affect. These prints look beautiful when hung in a window.
No art experience is necessary to participate. Join us for dinner and the workshop or just the workshop.
