Dreaming of the “Ideal Church”
July 27 @ 10:00 am - July 29 @ 2:00 pm$300
Dreaming of the Ideal Church is a retreat for lay ministers and others who are asking, “if everything was running smoothly, what would the Catholic Church be like?”
We will consider the realities we face as a Church –
- the decline of parishes (merging, etc)
- fewer vocations to the priesthood and religious life
- declining Mass attendance in many areas
- young people leaving the church in relatively high numbers
and ask, “What can the laity do to make some of the dreams come to reality?”
This retreat will be a combination of input, prayer, and discussion, all focused on what the 99% of the Church might be able to do/be to bring about positive developments.
Critical topics will include –
- Faith in action
- The domestic church
- The concept of holiness
