Finding Hope in Dark Times
January 13, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm$30
How do we find HOPE, when fear, hopelessness and destructive forces clash all around us? How can we break through when life seems to be breaking down?
Nothing is permanent! Institutions, traditions, social, political, religious and cultural structures are experiencing a paradigm shift. On a personal level, chaos breaks in at the most unexpected moment; bringing with it loss, uncertainty, pain and suffering. We seem to feel in our very being the ‘groaning of the entire creation’ and we are ‘enveloped in darkness more charged with menace than promise’. Yet, for us Christians, the darkness is ‘lit up and is animated by the Divine Presence’.
So, how do we find this Light in the darkness? How can we navigate the shift and live in joyful hope?
This program is limited to 15 participants and will take place upstairs in the Blue Room. Includes lunch.
Presented by Dr. Maria Decsy – spiritual director, retreat director, mother of four and happy grandmother who also has a doctorate in Biochemistry. She is adjunct professor of World Religions and of Human Biology at area colleges, and a member of the Retreat team at Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center in Farmington, CT.
