Inter-Religious Panel: Sharing Our Stories

Join us for an Inter-religious panel moderated by Maria Decsy. This panel will feature women from the Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions who will share their faith stories and their gifts that they bring to our world. This will be an interactive, relaxed and insightful discussion to discover what unites us as compassionate human beings.
Our panelists are:
Rabbi Debra Cantor – Rabbi Debra Cantor is the spiritual leader of Congregation B’nai Tikvoh-Sholom in Bloomfield, CT. Earlier, she served as rabbi of the historic Kane Street Synagogue in Brooklyn, New York, and Congregation Tifereth Israel in Andover, Massachusetts.
A member of the first Jewish Theological Seminary Rabbinical School class to include women, Rabbi Cantor was ordained by the JTS of America in 1988, where she was also awarded an MA. She graduated from Brandeis University cum laude with a BA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies.
The Reverand Patricia Hames – After receiving my M Div. From Yale Divinity School I was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in 1990. After ministry in several Connecticut parishes, I served as the Rector at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in New Britain for 20 years. I am now retired and often a supply priest on Sundays for local churches. I have two children and am blessed with seven grandchildren.

This panel will be moderated by OLC retreat team member Maria Decsy. She is spiritual director, retreat director, mother of four and happy grandmother who also has a doctorate in Biochemistry. Maria is an adjunct professor of World Religions and of Human Biology at area colleges, and a member of the Retreat team at Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center in Farmington, CT.
