Memory and the Cross – A Lenten Retreat Day

March 1 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

$50
Lenten Retreat Day

Is the Christian community losing its memory? Many people who consider themselves Christian do not believe that the events recounted in the New Testament happened. They don’t believe that Jesus ever really lived, died on the cross, and rose from the dead. They understand the stories to be religious myths. It is as if the Christian community is developing Alzheimer’s.

So how can we remember again? On this Lenten Retreat Day, we will consider three questions.

1. What as a Christian community do we remember of the Passion of Jesus?
2. Why do we remember it?
3. How do we remember it?

This Lenten retreat day will include an opportunity to go to Confession, Mass, and lunch.

Presenter: Sister Mary Ann Strain, CP joined the Passionist community in 1977 and has been in retreat ministry since 1986. She holds a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from Providence College.
