Silent Theme Retreat
June 21 @ 4:30 pm - June 24 @ 12:00 pm$290
Our Silent Theme Retreat is designed for those who would like a quiet, less social retreat experience with some input, but more time for personal prayer and reflection.
Each day of the retreat will include Morning Prayer, followed by a presentation from a member of the retreat team, daily Mass and evening prayer. You will have the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during your retreat.
Our theme this year, Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace, is both powerful and timely. It comes from one of the most popular and well-loved prayers in the world: the Peace Prayer of Saint Francis.
Our mission on earth is the same as that of Christ, that is to bring to others God’s peace, God’s state of “perfect well-being” and completeness.
St. Francis saw this as his mission too. He advised his followers that “they should not be quarrelsome or take part in disputes with words…or criticize others; but they should be gentle, peaceful and unassuming, courteous and humble, speaking respectfully to everyone.”
Peacemaking is not an optional commitment. It is a requirement of our faith. Time and again, Jesus calls us to be peacemakers. Faith intensifies our desire to address the questions of our times, precisely, in the light of the gospel:
What is peace?
What does it mean to be a peacemaker?
What is the Christian response to violence?
During our silent theme retreat, we will explore how we can place ourselves in the center of the storm and be an instrument of peace.
