The parables present some of the most beloved and familiar scenes of the Gospels, for instance, the Prodigal Son, the Good Samaritan, the Lost Coin. Parables, like songs or poems, are a very unique story-telling device, and are intended to be a “gospel within the Gospel,” presenting the heart of Jesus’ message through simple metaphors. These sessions will consider some points on Scripture, then on the Gospels in which the parables appear, and then the parables themselves. What is the message? How do we pray through the parables?
Presenter: Sister Elissa Rinere She holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctorate in Canon Law (JCD) from the Catholic University of America. She has spent many years working in the Church as both a canon lawyer and pastoral minister.
