Theme Weekend Retreat
October 27 @ 7:00 pm - October 29 @ 12:00 pm$250
Weekend Retreat Theme: Make Me An Instrument of Your Peace
Our theme this year, Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace, is both powerful and timely. It comes from one of the most popular and well-loved prayers in the world: the Peace Prayer of Saint Francis.
Our mission on earth is the same as that of Christ, to bring to others God’s peace–God’s state of “perfect well-being” and completeness. St. Francis saw this as his mission too. He advised his followers that “they should not be quarrelsome or take part in disputes with words…or criticize others; but they should be gentle, peaceful and unassuming, courteous and humble, speaking respectfully to everyone.”
Peacemaking is not an optional commitment. It is a requirement of our faith. Time and again, Jesus calls us to be peacemakers. Faith intensifies our desire to address the questions of our times, precisely, in the light of the gospel:
What is peace?
What does it mean to be a peacemaker?
What is the Christian response to violence?
During our retreat we will explore how we can place ourselves in the center of the storm and be an instrument of peace.
