Women’s Retreat

November 3, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - November 5, 2023 @ 12:00 pm

$310
Womens retreat

The monarch butterfly begins life as a caterpillar becomes a chrysalis, and finally, a butterfly.

We begin similarly. Like the caterpillar whose world is bounded by her tiny body, we, as children, learn to see God within ourselves, that we are temples of the Holy Spirit. As God’s own, we are sacred and worthy of love and respect. Our first task is to discover and grow in intimacy with this God within.

In the butterfly’s metamorphosis in the chrysalis, her vision improves to encompass a 360-degree panorama—all around her and above her at once. So too, as our relationship with God deepens and grows, we increasingly recognize God among us and around us in our ordinary life experiences, in our communities, in Scripture and the Eucharist, and in the entire created universe of which we are a part.

Finally, as an adult butterfly is meant to reproduce, we, too, must bear fruit, be life-givers, and share fully with others who we have become and what we have learned. Like the butterfly who embarks on her long, mysterious journey to Mexico, her ancestral home, we continue our spiritual journey, seeking ever beyond ourselves for the One from whom we came and to whom we will return.
