Sister Theresina Scully, C.P., a sister of the Cross and Passion, died peacefully on March 24, 2023, at Bayview at Scalabrini in North Kingstown, R.I. Born Geraldine Scully in Hartford, Connecticut she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Mangan) Scully. She was a graduate of St. Brigid’s School and Northwest Catholic High School in Connecticut
As a community member Sister Theresina held many leadership positions within the Congregation. As a noted educator in the Diocese of Providence, she constantly challenged her students to be their best. She served as Vice Principal of Prout High School. She was the Principal of Bishop McVinney School in Providence where she received the NCEA award for her Innovative Life Skills Program ranking Bishop McVinney in the top 25 most innovative elementary schools in the country. Sister last served as Administrator of Our Lady of Calvary Retreat House in Farmington CT.
Sister is survived by her brother James (Noreen) and sister, Patricia Scully, as well as her nephew, James, and niece, Kristen (Randall), and their children. She is predeceased by her brother, John.
