The Spiritual Purpose of Relationships

Why does that obnoxious person continue to be in your life? Why does he or she irritate you so much? What does God call you to do about it? Relationships are God’s way of helping us become our best selves. God’s idea of a perfect relationship is not someone who will constantly say yes to us. Instead, God puts some people in our lives to love and affirm us and others, like that obnoxious person, to bring our issues to light to heal them.

With this purpose in mind, JoAnne will examine our relationships with God, self, and loved ones, as well as those “challenging others.” In addition to the conference, you will be offered some reflection questions, quiet time, and group sharing.

It will be presented by JoAnne Ceccarelli-Egan, who is a Clinical Social Worker and Pastoral Counselor. She began at OLC in 1989, where she established a private counseling practice and became a member of the Retreat Team from 1989-2007. She rejoined the retreat team in 2021 and is thrilled to be presenting programs again.

This program will take place upstairs in the Blue Room. Limited to 15 participants. Includes lunch.
