Dear Friends & Supporters,
We hope this letter finds you well with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and excitement!
We are elated to tell you that we will be re-opening our doors at OLC in the fall – just a couple of months away. Our greatest desire is to welcome you back. We are committed to doing whatever we need to do to make your experience here safe and healthy, while at the same time providing you the spiritual experience you are so accustomed to receiving from the OLC ministry.
The economic impact has been considerable, significant, and real since our forced closing in March 2020 due to the pandemic. The purpose of this letter is two-fold. First, to bring you up to date as to the serious financial hardship the pandemic and economic shutdown has caused OLC. Secondly, to announce the start of our Annual Appeal 2021 which we traditionally begin in June each year. Our need this year is just as serious as when we wrote you last June. This year’s campaign is a request for you to help us with our recovery and our path back to stability. Realistically, we will not return to any sense of “normalcy” most likely until January 2022 in terms of being able to generate significant income from our retreats, programs, and hosted groups.
Our need caused by Covid-19 is great. Last June when we asked you for assistance, your response was overwhelming and you helped us maintain OLC on an even footing.
We truly and urgently need your support, once again, now during this unpreceded time to meet our expenses. If you made a contribution to the Annual Appeal last year, please do so again. If you can match your contribution of last year or increase it, please consider doing so. Please contribute now if you have not in the past. Don’t delay. Your support, especially during this Annual Appeal 2021, will make a significant difference in re-opening the retreat center. Your help at this moment will provide financial relief and provide us the means to welcome everyone back. This is our primary mission now – to reopen our doors and welcome our beloved community back in a safe and healthy fashion.
Prayerfully consider your donation. Any gift you give is through the grace of God. You may also donate online at the OLC website if you prefer. Click here to donate. You can further direct your donation to the Annual Appeal.
If you have not yet been vaccinated, we strongly urge you to get vaccinated before returning to in-person retreats and programs at OLC. Pope Francis has urged all of us to get vaccinated as a moral obligation to ourselves and each other. We will do all we can to keep our community safe and healthy. Let us continue to pray for all those whose lives have been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
May the Holy Spirit guide you accordingly and on behalf of the Sisters of the Cross and Passion and the dedicated staff at OLC, we sincerely Thank You!!
